Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Laurie moved to Broadkill Beach in 1998 to satisfy a lifelong dream to live at the beach. Born into a family of real estate developers, Laurie received her BA in Visual Anthropology, then trained as a physician assistant.  After 10 years in emergency medicine, she decided to pursue her passion for real estate full time in 2003.
